The Indianapolis 500 (an automobile race) is the single largest sporting event in the world. It takes months of preparation and planning in order to make this hectic day attended by approximately 300,000 people to run smoothly. I was hired by Andretti Autosport to help them with the logistics of the busy week leading up to the Indy 500 and the events taking place on the day of the race. I managed the relationships between one of the IndyCar Drivers and his high profile sponsors. I served as the liaison between the two by creating itineraries for the race weekend, planning police escorts, and I served as a tour guide by giving exclusive access into Andretti transporters, garage and pit areas. My job required a lot of patience, clear communication and professionalism but was very rewarding because it taught me a lot about event planning and problem solving.
